Nick Bannister - Testimonial

On the 10th of January 2008 I visited the doctor who informed me that the present position I was in was seriously threatening my health.

I weighed over 21stone and could not walk very far let alone do anything else. He also reminded me that I had two young girls who should make the most of their time with their dad if I intended to continue my life as It was.

There is no greater shock than this nor is there a more frightening thought that I was going to have to make some serious changes and start an exercise routine and eating plan that I was not looking forward too.

When you were as large as me the most obvious issue is people looking at you in the gym and smiling to themselves. Then there is the thought of eating rabbit food which was hardly as tasty as kebab and chips.

My wife was really encouraging and talked to me about getting a personal trainer at which I laughed. After some searching around we arranged a meeting with Simon to come to the house. My initial thought were that he was nothing like my vision of what I expected a personal trainer to be like.

He took so much time understanding my thoughts and feelings about what I wanted to do before even beginning to talk about what I was about to go through.

After the initial meeting I signed up for a 3 month course and started following Simons eating plan which was really easy to do and more importantly very enjoyable to do.

We started exercising for two hours every Saturday morning and I was amazed at how quickly things started to change. I felt so different in myself with my energy levels were going through the roof and I developed a real taste for more and more exercise.

Every week now when Simon leaves on a Saturday he sets a challenge for the next Saturday and every week my aim is to beat him. Well I guess anyone reading this must be thinking so what’s been the result in the last 3 months months.

Well let me tell you I was over 21 stone with a size 46 inch waist and they were tight. I am know 18 stone and have a 39 inch waist.

Last Saturday I ran my first 5k run in 31 minutes. I could not of achieved this without the help and support from Simon and the huge support from my wife. If anyone reading this wants to understand more about this or you are about to undertake this life style change yourself then ask Simon to give you my contact details and I will willing tell you how his knowledge and support has helped me achieve something I only ever dreamed of doing.

In October this year I intend to run a 10k race with Simon and my aim is to leave him breathless at the end.

Thanks Simon you’re a very hard task master but a great coach and now someone I would now consider a friend as you have no idea how you have helped me and my family’s life change for the better and for much longer. I will always be grateful for that.
